When I started telling family and friends that I was opening a travel agency I was often met with a supportive smile, followed by a head tilt and a litany of questions beginning with: “Do travel agencies even exist anymore?”    

And the facts are that yes, travel agencies and travel advisors still/do exist!  Despite the advent of powerful, online booking engines…

   51% of all airline tickets 
   47% of all hotel stays 
   45% of all car rentals

…but how and why? 

Well, simply said: Into every life a little concierge service should fall!  While Gen X travelers are more willing to book independently, their counterparts -- Boomers and Millennials -- don’t mind a little help.  They use Travel Advisors to arrange all types of domestic and international travel, from hotel and resort accommodations to air and ground transportation, including car rental needs and tour packages.  Travel Advisors also provide access to travel insurance protection, insights about passport and visa applications, inoculation procedures and other foreign travel requirements.
