Do I Need a Travel Advisor?
What’s old is new again!
When I started telling family and friends that I was opening a travel agency I was often met with a supportive smile, followed by a head tilt and a litany of questions beginning with: “Do travel agencies even exist anymore?”
And the facts are that yes, travel agencies and travel advisors still/do exist! Despite the advent of powerful, online booking engines…
Travel Advisors sell:
81% of all tours and packages
51% of all airline tickets
47% of all hotel stays
45% of all car rentals

…but how and why?
Well, simply said: Into every life a little concierge service should fall! While Gen X travelers are more willing to book independently, their counterparts -- Boomers and Millennials -- don’t mind a little help. They use Travel Advisors to arrange all types of domestic and international travel, from hotel and resort accommodations to air and ground transportation, including car rental needs and tour packages. Travel Advisors also provide access to travel insurance protection, insights about passport and visa applications, inoculation procedures and other foreign travel requirements.
Here are just a few things that I can do for you as your Travel Advisor:
Save You Time and Add Value:
The average business/leisure traveler spends one to five hours on research during both the inspiration and planning phases? Your time is valuable, and you shouldn't have to spend it searching for the right vacation. I can do that for you; often saving you time, money and best of all, I share my professional guidance at no extra cost to you!
Provide Access and Expertise:
Travel advisors are often avid travelers, with insights on and experiences in many destinations. We also have access to a variety of tools not available to consumers. We can also source unique, local experiences that allow you to immerse yourself in the unforgettable and create the memories. Not to mention, I can sometimes get you a better seat on an airplane, added amenities at hotels, and more.
3. Provide Partnership and Advocacy:
Travel Advisors devote time and effort to making sure you’re happy with your travel options and receive the attention you not only need, but also deserve. Online travel websites make it easy to book travel, but they shift all responsibility to you. As your travel advisor, I manage the components of your vacation, not to mention, I’m your first line of defense should travel hiccups occur. Whether the problem is getting there, getting in or out, your travel advisor will get you where you want to go!
